TEENS WITH A PURPOSE

 

As youth and families come to Teens With a Purpose for help, we give them hope, we highlight their strengths, we support and encourage, as they transform their lives and communities – impact their neighbors, classmates and schools, governments and congregations. Simply put, teens creatively cultivating the next generation of leaders.

 

Our mission: TWP-The Youth Movement, also known as Teens With a Purpose, is a 501(c) (3) non-profit youth development organization.  Our mission is “to create a platform to empower young people to use their voices, energy, abilities and talent to demonstrate their power to effect personal change and positively impact the lives of others through the arts and peer-led programs and events. We create a safe, non-judgmental environment for self-expression for all young people as we continue to promote healthy life choices.” Simply put, Teens Cultivating the Next Generation of Leaders.

 

Our creative youth development organization is headquarted in Norfolk, Virginia serving all of Hampton Roads through peer-led programs and events. Our program include Peer Leadership, Arts Education & Enrichment including the Hampton Roads Youth Poets and Music Made Simple, HealthE & Teen Camps, and Community Outreach.

 

TWP has presented many workshops and events that address violence and promote peace and unity throughout the years. For two years in a row, TWP presented F.U.S.E. Festival, a free community festival sponsored by the City of Norfolk that focuses on peace, unity, spirit and edutainment. In 2013, TWP collaborated to present a Peace Rally for Trayvon Martin, as a peaceful and positive way for the community to combat violence. This year, TWP will continue to provide resources and tools to combat youth violence. Teens With a Purpose presented workshops and forums starting September 2014 to give youth a safe place to ask questions, express their concerns and provide positive conflict resolution strategies that saves lives.
